I want this blog to be a place where people can educate themselves about Chronic Illness and the impact it has on peoples physical and mental well being. I hope to inspire others starting their chronic journey and assure them you can do this and it is not the end. I live in Durham in the UK and have lived with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) since I was 18 years old. I’m married and a proud dog mamma to my fur baby Layla who is certainly more popular than me on social media!
I’ll admit I started blogging for selfish reasons, to help articulate what I was going through but my motivation quickly changed when I saw the reaction and I realised that I could hopefully be an advocate for other people in similar situations.
In the spirit of full transparency, I’m a nervous blogger who gets a little scared about sharing even though I used to be a journalist and editor. Lets just say my illness has stolen a big chunk of my confidence and often steals my motivation to write when the pain levels are high. This is an honest and open account about how I am navigating my way through my illness and treatments, and I promise to share as much as I can.
